Dear Captains,
Congratulations on an incredible season of PGA Junior League Golf! Thanks to your dedication to growing the game and transforming lives, 42,000 kids – more than 18,000 of whom were beginners – and their families flooded golf courses across the country this summer.

We are especially encouraged by the tremendous diversity of playing ability, age and gender amongst PGA Junior League participants. This demonstrates the inclusive and welcoming nature of the program, which is not only inspiring for future growth potential, but also resulted in almost $5.6 million of revenue to PGA Professionals in 2017.

Ultimately, these numbers tell the story of PGA Junior League as a program that works for everyone, at every facility. This year, 80 percent of participants identified as beginner and recreational golfers; 43 percent of participants were ages 10 and under, 54 percent were ages 11-13 and 3 percent were ages 14-16; 25 percent of participants were girls; and facility type was split almost evenly, with 51 percent public-access and 49 percent private.
We are thrilled with the record participation in 2017, but we are even more excited about several program enhancements in store for 2018…

New and Improved Jerseys: each player will receive two high-quality Garb jerseys: one blue and one orange (home and away). Parents can now choose from boys and girls cuts and sizes, as well as add a jersey number and the Captain’s chosen team name.
Enhanced Team Kits: along with the two custom jerseys, participants will receive a PGA Junior League ballcap, performance tee-shirt, high-quality bag tag and more.
Greater Local Support: through a new field team of Regional League Managers, you will receive hands-on support, improved service, and valuable coaching from a PGA Junior League expert in your area.
Enhanced Website: as part of our ongoing commitment to making the website more user-friendly and efficient, several exciting enhancements are in the works for 2018.

Captain registration will open in November, and we look forward to reconnecting with you then. Until then, please continue to share your best practices, success stories and favorite photos/videos from the season with our team by emailing them to PGAJLG@PGAHQ.com.

Thank you for all that you do to bring families and communities together around a love for golf.
